Atsuko Sahara

Atsuko Sahara started playing the violin at the age of four.  She graduated from Tokyo University of Art(Tokyo Geidai) with a Master of Arts degree and has participated in several summer music festivals in Europe. She was a prize winner at the Allegro Vivo International Chamber Music Festivalin 2001, at the Foval Stradivarius Competition, Tokyo in 2003 and won the first prize at the Uralsk International Competition, in Kazakhstan in 2004.

Atsuko has played Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto with the IBM Philharmonic Orchestra, Japan under Tadaaki Otaka. She has also given recitals at the Newport music festival in America and Lake District music festival in UK.
