Eddie Mora

His musical studies were conducted at the Castella Conservatory, the School of Music at the University of Costa Rica, and the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow. As a composer, he was awarded the Aquileo J. Echeverría National Prize in Musical Composition, an ACAM Award (Association of Composers and Musical Authors) and, in 2007, the Ancora Award in Musical Composition. Up to the present, his work has included several albums and a DVD, Amighetti, in which he conducted the National Symphony Orchestra of Costa Rica. In 2009, he recorded one of his works with the Russian Radio and Television Orchestra for an album produced by the label Verso (Madrid, Spain). He has directed the Musical Composition Seminar since 2002. Currently, he is Artistic Director of the Municipal Symphony Orchestra of Heredia, the Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Costa Rica, and is a member of the University Contemporary Ensemble.
