“Maria Alikhanova was born in Moscow and started to study music at the age of six. She studied at the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory with professor Y. Dolzhikov. After her graduation with a masters degree in 2003, she continued her education at the Rotterdam Conservatory with the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra soloist, J. Hagen. She also took part in masterclasses given by R. Aitken and P-Y. Artaud. Maria Alikhanova was a member of the Rotterdam Young Philharmonic Orchestra. Since 2005 she has been a soloist with the Moscow Chamber Orchestra. As a member of this orchestra, she has been on tour to Europe, USA, Canada, Mexico, Korea and Japan.
As a performer Maria Alikhanova regularly performs classical and contemporary repertoire. She has participated in numerous festivals in Moscow; St. Petersburg; Germany; Netherlands and China. Among them the Beijing International Music Week; Schoenberg-Kandinsky; Sacro Art; Musical Kremlin; Moscow Forum; Denisovfest and Homecoming. She has performed with such musicians as A. Kniazev and A. Rudin.”
