Ksenia Bashmet

Born in 1980 in Moscow, Ksenia graduated from the Gnessin Special Music School, where she studied with Elena Efrussi and Tatiana Zelikman, and from the Moscow State Conservatory, where her teacher was Professor Lev Naumov. Ksenia also completed postgraduate studies at the Moscow Conservatory where she studied chamber music with Tigran Alikhanov, and accompaniment with Irina Kirillova.

She has won many prizes and awards, including a diploma at the International “Virtuosi 2000″ Festival, Third Prize in the First Taneev International Chamber Music Competition” (Kaluga, 2002) and Second prize in the 18th International Chamber Music Competition (Caltanissetta, 2003). Ksenia is a laureate of the “Triumph” Youth Award (2004) and of the Premio Galileo 2000 as well as the Pentagramma d’Oro, (Florence, 2005).

She has appeared at many international festivals, including Verbier (Switzerland), Tanglewood (USA), Elba Island (Italy), “December Nights” (Moscow),”Homecoming” (Moscow), “Ars Longa” (Moscow) and “Young Stars of the 21st Century” (Samara).

As a soloist she has appeared throughout Europe as well as the USA, Japan and Israel, at venues such as New Tokyo Opera City Hall, the Vienna Musikverein, Beethoven Halle and the Great Hall of Moscow State Conservatory.
